Pender’s Fabulous Journal of Random Stuff and Things!!!!

Friday, Pender arrives in SJ at the normal time of: whenever (7 or so). They sat around and had a quiet evening at home. Pender was super duper hungry so Hollywood whipped him up a batch of (frozen) homeade spaghetti! mMmmMM. Nothing like pasta before bed when on a diet to gain weight. They went to zellers to buy Pender some underwears cause he forgot to do laundry during the week and only had “underwear that tarzan would be ashamed to wear” (quote courtesy of my dad last xmas when they were being folded).

Saturday, Hollywood worked, Pender gamed. They met for lunch at about 2 and had subway, driving to rockwood park overlooking the lake while they ate in the car. After game/work they went to pizza delight and got a 9″ garlic fingers (which Pender basically ate himself) and a large chicken seaser salad. Twas delightful! They watched some movie on tv that had a loooottttt of commercials that kept driving them nuts, though they can’t remember the name of the movie! :/ It must have been THAT good!!

Sunday, they woke up bright and early at 11am then got ready to go to Cora’s to meet Hollywood’s friend Susan (who was waitressing there). They had to wait in line for 20 mins to get in, which was sooooo painful because they were STARVED. Pender died on the wait. Twice. Hollywood kept having to recussitate him. When they eventually got in they met Susan. She would walk by and say something funny then move on because she was “afraid of getting fired” or some other equally unbelievable reason. Pender ordered enough food for 4 people, so Hollywood got to watch him eat for about an hour straight. $37 later and they were full (well, “they” being Hollywood, cause Pender sure wasn’t). They went home then decided to go for a hike, so they drove over to Irving Nature Park and hiked around for about 45 mins (and sometimes sprinted through the forest for fun!) They went home and watched the movie Antz (though they’d both seen it) and it was good. Pender took a couple of pictures of Hollywood looking all haggard and tired on some stairs, then the camera ran out of battery power. Pender also forgot to the camera at Hollywood’s place this week, so there’s no pictures AT ALL! Enjoy!!

Friday, Pender drove up to Saint John and arrived at about 8:30. He met up with Hollywood at a Tim Horton’s (actually, she chased him to Tim Hortons cause they were both going the same way but Pender didn’t notice her) on the way to her dad’s house because she was returning the car. They returned the car then rushed to the other side of town to watch The Incredibles! It was.. incredibles! A very very good movie, they both enjoyed it immensely.

Saturday, Hollywood worked all day as usual while Pender played video games as usual. After work they ate some supper consisting of: miscelaneous. After their delightful meal they met up with her cousin Tracy (who doesn’t have an alias? what’s up with that!) and drank w(h)ine, playing mad gab and 31’s with her and her pseudo husband Wilbur (Randy). Pender spent time with their kids, Kevin and Stephanie, teaching them the finer art of swearing while playing video games (because it’s a fine art and those uncultured buffoons needed to learn some new swears).

Sunday, they woke up reaaaallly late, cause Pender was lazy from being all dehydrated. Hollywood wanted to do Pender’s hair and Pender refused, so they fought about it for a while. Hollywood then wanted to teach Pender a “lesson” so she did this and this. Pender was quite disturbed and missed the point thinking she was just being immature, not thought provoking. On an unrealated topic, Pender was freaked out by the fact that it snowed all day Saturday and he had only his crappy all-season radials on his car, so he drove home at 3:30pm before it would all freeze and he’d die. It really had nothing to do with the fact that Hollywood looked like a 15 year old punkette at all, honest!

A very good read if you like Firefox and hate Internet Explorer. This was the best part:

“I don’t agree that just because a (competing) product has a feature that we don’t have, that feature is important,” he said. “It is not. It is only important if it is a feature the customer wants. There are plenty of products out there with features we don’t have. We have plenty of features that our customers don’t use.

So in essence, no features except those already in Internet Explorer is important, they don’t know what features the consumer wants, they acknowledge that Internet Explorer lacks a bunch of features but has features nobody even uses.

Friday, Hollywood arrived at Pender’s place in Moncton so that they could start their apartment hunt! Pender was a good boy and did searches on the interweb that week and called around to a bunch of places in Moncton and got appointments to see stuff. Their first appointment was at 5pm. They showed up but the lousy landlady didn’t show up. Since they had their second appointment at 5:30 they didn’t wait around. Pender was running around in the freezing cold with just a t-shirt on, so they rushed home to get a sweater then rushed to the second place, and WHAT A PLACE! It was wicked awesome! Very neat design and spacious. The landlady even took $20 a month off cause she admited to being desperate to rent it out, which makes it $775, no heat included. The third place was another super nice place. It was huge, very spacious, tonnes of storage. It was a little bit pricey though.. $900, no heat included. It was also so spacious we were afraid of how much it would cost to heat. After they saw this place they went to Tim Horton’s and drank coffee/teas and chatted about apartments. They then went to the 4th place…. but shouldn’t have bothered. From the outside and in the porch, yuk! It stank and it was dirty. The landlord guy didn’t have the key to let them in the apartment door so they even stood in the stanky porch for about 5 mins, then he suddenly burst the front door open cause he had to go in the back door. The place didn’t have any power and it was dark out, so they could barely see the place at all. What they could see they were barely impressed with, except the price of the place, $675, heat included. It didn’t have a dishwasher though, so that was definately out! (they both hate doing dishes). So after their adventures they went back to Pender’s place and had a chat with his landlady. She let him fill out the release forms as if it was still Oct. 31 (even though it was really Nov 5th), so he could get out of his apartment! What a nice landlady! So they then ran up to Pender’s place and called the landlady of the second place they saw and said “we’ll take it!” in unison, just like they do on tv.

Saturday, Hollywood drove home real early for work, like, 7am or something ridiculous like that. The landlady called Pender and he went to the new apartment at 11 and signed the lease. It was all official!! Pender then went home and played video games, squandering the rest of the day. He then left moncton at 5pm and arrived in Saint John just before Hollywood got off work at 7 and surprised her by being at her place like he said he would! They decided they were super hungry and used Hollywood’s $50 gift certificate at East Side Mario’s that she had illegally won (long story). They managed to eat $45 in food and it was really good! Too bad they forgot their doggy-bag leftovers on the table. After that they didn’t do much but talk about apartments and watch tv.

Sunday, they woke up late.. Real late.. They were tired all day! They got up at about noon and had breakfast. They then went to ValueVillage near the mall and met Hollywood’s grandma, her grandma’s boyfriend and Hollywood’s dad. They walked around ValueVillage for a while then went across the street to the mall and ate Deluxe fish N Chips (they had scallops and fries, which weren’t as bad as Pender had always feared). They parted ways with Hollywood’s Grandma, grandma’s boyfriend and her Dad and went home. They watched The Ladies Man, which Pender loved but Hollywood hated. They then watched The Haunting, which Pender loved but Hollywood hated. So Hollywood wasn’t having a very good movie day.

Monday, Pender went home at 6:30am, as per his normal ritual, even though he definately didn’t want to (which is also part of his normal ritual).

There is no pics from this weekend (they didn’t take pics of the apartment since someone was living there), but here’s a Mapquest pic of where they (will) live, so you can go steal Pender’s prized Troll collection!

I just had my first bike accident! I was coming around a corner slowly, then when I was almost straightened I gave it more power.. Well I guess the back tire slipped on the pavement and the bike went over real quick. I ended up on my back in the middle of the road with my bike on its right side. There’s a small scratch to the exhaust cover, the side fairing is scratched, the right handlebar has a small scratch on the side, the back brake handle was bent (I bent it back into shape) with a small scratch. So it was about a $2000 ride in to work this morning. I landed on my backpack with my camera in it, but neither was damaged. My gloves are a bit scraped on the palm and I somehow got a scrape on my wrist, even though my wrist was covered. My helmet didn’t touch the ground at all, so that’s good.

A couple of people pulled over to ask if I was alright, but I was already stood up and was righting my bike and getting off the road.

I still feel googly (like googly-eyed, only I feel like that all over).. The best news of all: my hair’s not messed up!

Friday, Pender drove to Saint John after work and arrived at about 6. They then went to the dollar store to buy some accessories for Hollywood’s halloween costume. She dressed up like a goddess, it was perfect for her! She wore a prom dress, had a vine crown, a vine wrapped down her arm and she had grapes! It was wicked! Pender then dropped her off at Brooklyn’s place for a girl’s costume partay/Philly’s birthday partay. After a few hours Pender drove Brookyn and Jersey to the 3mile and stole Hollywood away from them.. Muhuhahahhaa!! They then went home and watched parts of Death Becomes Her intermingled with Witches of Eastwick.

Saturday, Pender drove Hollywood to work then he played video games all day. For Hollywood’s lunch they had subway in the car outside of her work, and it was gooooooood. That night they rented Van Helsing from blockbuster, which was a pretty good halloween movie.

Sunday, they went to Shoppers and bought a month’s supply of atkins “food” for Hollywood. Then Hollywood forgot to call susan, and she’s very very sorry (this part lasted all day). They then went home and watched miscelaneous Halloweenesque tv shows. They then put blankets in the window so that the little.. uh.. lovely children.. would go away. They went away all-right, they went right out to Pender’s car and ripped the horsey off one side and damaged the horsey on the other side. Grrr. Hollywood went for a jog on the treadmill while Pender played some video game. Later that night they watched Interview with a Vampire (too bad they were FAKE vampires! Pender later found out.. but don’t tell Hollywood.. shhhh)

So it was a very dull weekend, but you BETTER have read every word! Twice!

Since Pender hogged the camera all last weekend he took only pictures of Hollywood this weekend. :)
