Happy Anniversary to us!
Hollywood and I took off from Moncton to PEI on Sunday at about 4PM after Hollywood got off work. We drove across the confederation bridge, which was nifty. We arrived at Brudenell River Provincial Park at about 7pm or so (cause we stopped for food and stuff).

We unpacked our crap and set everything up, then we made a fire and burned trees (don’t worry, they were already mostly dead).
The park was really nice though the camping area was small (maybe 60 sites). They have horsey rides, kayaking/canoing, beaching, walking trails and golf and some other misc stuff that I forget.
On Monday we pretended to get up at 7am and got ready to go kayaking after breakfast. We rented out a two person sea kayak and proceeded to fight the wind going up the river. It was pretty slow going and we were kinda cold and wet, but it was still fun. By the time we got to the top of the riverish to turn back the wind had died.. so we didn’t have any wind help all the way back either. Even nature was against us! But we proved nature wrong by surviving anyhow.
After kayaking we went back to the campsite to have lunch and plan the next day, which we decided to go to the beach (MORE ON THIS LATER!!!).
After eating our nutritious protein bars and tea we showed up at the horsey area, where we paid for our horsey ride then gawked at horsies for the next 20 minutes. Then we got to actually ride the horsies! That was even more fun than watching them piss and shit like mad then stomp in it! TWICE as fun! The trail ride was a lot of fun, we were chatting and the worker-horsey-girl becky was yelling at us while we let our horses eat on the trail. At one point in the ride we went down to the beach and walked along, when Hollywood’s horse decides to go for a stroll into the a bog and got stuck on an island. Then I had to make my horse stop moving and wouldn’t let my horse eat while Hollywood got her horse un-stuck, which seriously pissed my horsey off who started bobbing its head and stamping its hoof. The rest of the ride wsa uneventful and nice.
Then we went back to the campsite and ate nutritious protein bars while we beat insects to DEATH. We then went for a drive to find somewhere to eat, so we went to this place called Cardigan or something. We stopped off at this lobster place but it turns out the meal was $30 each and they served nothing but lobster at all, which Hollywood doesn’t even like. So we got up and left without ordering (cause hey, we’re cheap mainlanders, eh?). When we got back to the car this creepy guy walked behind the car and took down our license plate numbers, apparently so they know who the el cheapos REALLY were. That freaked us out cause we didn’t want some jerk calling the cops when we didn’t do anything wrong (we hadn’t even ordered drinks yet). So then we drove to another town (a NICER town) called Montague. We ate McDonalds, there were no creepy guys at McDonalds.
After our delicious, nutritious and cheap meal with no creepy guys we went back to our campsite and made a campfire (yes it was only about 5:30pm but damnit we wanted to burn things!). We sat around at the fire for a few hours and about halfway through it started to rain a bit, but nothing serious. When we got bored we went for a walk on a hiking trail behind our site, it only took about 25 minutes to do the entire thing, but it was pretty nice.
On Tuesday we pretended to wake up at 7am (Hollywood actually did wake up at 7am this time) and we had breakfast, had our showers then started packing up all our gear. We then drove to Cavendish (which is at the north-west part of the island), where we saw lots of interesting places to go that looked far too expensive such as: Rippley’s Believe it or Not, The Fantasmagoric something-or-other, Sandspit (carnival rides), Rainbow Valley (carnival like stuff I think), Granpa’s Antique Photos and a lot of other stuff that I can’t remember. We drove by Rainbow Valley and Hollywood really wanted to go there, but I wanted to go to Sandspit to do mini-golf, so we went to Sandspit, but then we decided to go to Rainbow Valley, but when we showed up there was a million person (EXACTLY a million! we couldn’t believe it!) line-up just to get into the bloody place, so we hopped in the car and drove to Cavendish beach.
We hung out on the beach for about 3.5 hours (without sunscreen, happy times) which also included some time where we walked around the dune and made some hotdogs with our coleman stove at this picnic area. The beach was actually a lot colder than Parlee Beach, and a lot rockier and the water was much dirtier with sea-weed, but it was still a nice time.
Then we drove home, unpacked all our crap and now I’m writing this. Tadaaa!!!
