Pender’s Fabulous Journal of Random Stuff and Things!!!!

Over the summer we had the opportunity to drive 8 hours to Barb’s BBQ, outside of Shediac, right next to the ocean. Was good times, got to see a bunch of people that I don’t normally see (I won’t list who was there cause I’ll miss someone then they’ll kick me in the shin).

We played croquet (which isn’t the sport where you ride horses and hit a ball into a goal with a golf club, I was kinda disappointed). There was also lawn bowling, frisbee, soccer and a water fight. The beach was covered in jelly fishes, so we didn’t go swimming, but hung out on the beach for a while. Was a good time, glad I was partially invited.

Our trip to St. John’s went as goodly as our trip to Saint John. We’re back in Halifax, partying it up by sitting around the apartment wondering what we ever did before our big vacation. The night before last we couldn’t get to sleep until about 1:30am, then our flight left at 7:15am, so we had to wake up at 5am. So yesterday was a very, very sleepy day. After I got home from work we just lay around watching family guy episodes, snoozing and losing.

I should have a plethora (I think a plethora means a long board with a nail in it) covered with pictures and videos up sometime over the weekend (and hopefully catch up on all the past activities that never got added to the site). That’s the plan, Stan (Stan, if you’re reading this, let me know what you think).

We’ve just gotten home from our trip to Saint John. It was neato (I’ll elaborate later in another post, hopefully). Now we’re re-packing for our trip to St. John’s (diff province, similar name).

The drive back from Saint John to Halifax was “teh hell”. It was winter wonderland of doom conditions at the cabin, and the roads weren’t plowed. It took 30 mins to move the car backward the 3 feet to actually get onto the road. Then it was an hour drive to go the normally 15 minute drive to the highway using my car (read: mustang, ie: tobogan). Then the highway roads were pretty crappy all the way to Sussex. We stopped at the Irving for a brain-break and coffee. Soon after leaving Sussex the roads were superslick with freezing rain until almost Truro. Then it was nifty nice dry roads all the way to Halifax. Apparently the worst that Halifax got the entire week was a bit of rain yesterday, the bastards. On the way home we stopped at the mall so I could get a hairs cut.

Fascinated yet? There’s MORE!!! Oh wait, not there’s not.. We dragged our George loot upstairs and I plopped down in front of the computer where I started writing the following words that you see before you starting… now.
